Come me Lads (Let union be)

"Come me lads" or "Let union be, I don't even know if the title is correct, is one of my favourite drinking songs which I first heard on Wally Whyton's Folk Music programme in May 1983. I can't remember who sung it at that time but jolly fine rousing stuff it was, too. I've sung it on a few occasions with Victor Besch, the Welsh piper of renown, which was exceedingly enjoyable. "Come me lads" is one of a trio of songs I use to finish off a ceilidh, the other songs being The Parting Glass, Irish and Auld lang syne, Scottish.
