I do not know whether to classify "Dashing away with the smoothing iron" as a children's song or as an English folk song. Be that as it may, the version I sing can be found in Folk Songs of the British Isles. This is another song collected by C. Sharp. It is a great song for running up the scales, i.e. modulating by a half-tone for each succeeding verse.
